Japanese copy polish across 130+ pages and components
Site-wide polish of the Japanese reading experience. We worked through a comprehensive bilingual review workbook — every page, every shared component, every CTA, every footnote — and applied roughly 490 small, human-reviewed improvements where the previous Japanese still read like a literal translation. The changes are intentionally surgical: punctuation set to the natural Japanese full-width form, spacing around bracketed product names tightened to native conventions, English katakana traded for clearer kanji where a kanji form exists in everyday Japanese business writing, and a handful of CTAs and pull-quotes rewritten so they sound like a Japanese reader would actually phrase them. Nothing about the pricing, plans, features, or available products changes — only the way the page reads in Japanese.
Improvement
Punctuation and spacing now follow native Japanese typography
Question marks at the end of Japanese sentences are now the full-width 「?」 form rather than the ASCII `?` that the build tooling sometimes left behind. Spaces inside English product names mid-sentence (a habit copied from early machine-translation output) have been removed so phrases read as a single, native-feeling Japanese unit. None of these are "translation changes" — the meaning is identical — but together they make the page feel like it was written by someone for whom Japanese is their first language.

Clearer kanji replaces awkward katakana where Japanese business writing already uses kanji
A handful of katakana terms that had carried over from English-first drafts — terms that Japanese business writers would naturally render in kanji — have been switched to their idiomatic kanji forms. The intent is purely readability. No glossary entries change, no jargon disappears, and the locked terminology for our authoritative partners (notably MEISAI and JapanETCcard) is left exactly as specified by their style guides.

CTAs and pull-quotes rewritten to sound like a Japanese reader would phrase them
A small but high-impact set of call-to-action buttons and pull-quote sentences had been translated word-for-word from English and read mechanically. Those have been rephrased — by a human reviewer, not by bulk find-and-replace — into the form a native Japanese marketing copywriter would actually use. Every change preserved the original meaning and tone; nothing was softened or made vaguer.
