ETC Usage Inquiry Service registration walkthrough
A step-by-step independent reference covering new registration on the official ETC Usage Inquiry Service, the personal vs corporate distinction, common stumbling points, and what becomes available after registration.
Short answer
The ETC Usage Inquiry Service is the official portal for confirming ETC usage statements and downloading PDF usage certificates. New registration requires the ETC card number, OBU management number, personal info, vehicle info, and an email address. Registration is performed at etc-meisai.jp directly. JTR cannot register on your behalf, but after registration, JTR helps organise the resulting statements into daily PDF + CSV + email delivery.
Registration walkthrough (8 steps)
Prepare credentials
Gather the ETC card number (16 digits), OBU management number (19 digits), email address, personal info (name, address, phone, DOB), and vehicle info (license plate, model).
Visit the official site
Open the official ETC Usage Inquiry Service site (etc-meisai.jp) and choose "new registration". Verify the URL bar shows etc-meisai.jp — similar lookalike domains in search results are not official.
Accept terms and privacy
Confirm the terms of service and privacy policy.
Enter personal and ETC card info
Enter the ETC card number, your personal info, and the registration email. Corporate-name registration is supported; ETC Corporate Cards are typically on a separate contract and may be out of scope.
Enter OBU and vehicle info
Enter the 19-digit OBU management number and the vehicle plate and model. After a re-setup, allow reflection time.
Verify by email
Open the verification email and complete confirmation. Check your spam folder if needed.
Save your login ID and password
Save the issued login ID and your chosen password securely. This is a separate ID from the ETC Mileage Service.
Use the post-registration features
Download ~15 months of statements, PDFs, and CSVs, and filter by vehicle or card. ETC Corporate Cards are typically limited to 62 days.
Phishing emails impersonating the ETC Usage Inquiry Service have been reported. Verify that verification-email links go to etc-meisai.jp. Unexpected login-request emails may not be from the official service.
Personal vs corporate registration
- Personal: Use a personally-named ETC card with your private vehicle.
- Corporate: Corporate-name registration is supported. However, ETC Corporate Cards are typically on a separate contract and may be out of scope. For multi-vehicle / multi-card management, refer to each operator's rules.
- Data retention: General ETC cards retain ~15 months; ETC Corporate Cards retain ~62 days.
Common registration stumbling points
- The OBU management number is 19 half-width digits including leading zeros.
- The ETC card number is 16 half-width digits, no hyphens or spaces.
- After a re-setup, allow time for the new vehicle info to propagate.
- If no verification email arrives, check spam folders and the mail server's allow-list.
- Long inactivity may trigger automatic account closure. Log in periodically to keep the account active.
