Real Phishing URLs Sighted in the Wild (partially redacted)
The only legitimate ETC Usage Inquiry Service URL: https://www.etc-meisai.jp/
Key point: the genuine domain ENDS with www.etc-meisai.jp. Any URL containing "etc-meisai.jp" that ends with .cn / .shop / .top / .fm / .am, or any other extension, is a phishing site.
How the Phishing Site Steals Your Data (typical 4-step flow)
- ① Asks for your "email address" and "password"
- ② Shows a fake "Your payment method is invalid and service is suspended" message
- ③ Collects "name," "phonetic reading," "email," "mobile phone," "date of birth," and "postal code"
- ④ Steals your credit card details: cardholder name, card number, expiration, and security code
What the Official Service Explicitly Does NOT Do
The genuine ETC Usage Inquiry Service NEVER collects cardholder name, card number, expiration, or security code. It also never asks for photos of your driver's license, health insurance card, or passport. Any email or website asking for these is phishing.
